Q: I'm interested in a smile makeover just like the ones I've
seen on TV. Does your office do this type of treatment?
A: Absolutely! Dr. Lee is a graduate of the famous LVI course
in aesthetic dentistry. Only 1% of the dentists in the United States have
completed this course.

Q: I want to have a beautiful smile but I'm worried about the function
of my teeth and my TMJ. Does your office consider these factors?
A: Yes. Dr. Lee uses a K-7 neuromuscular scan to allow each
patient undergoing full mouth reconstruction, to "find the correct bite" for
them. In the past, dentists placed the patient's lower jaw in a centric
position. This is not always the right bite for every patient. By assessing
the muscular aspect of the bite, the restoration is first functional and
secondly, beautiful.

Q: Do you guarantee your work?
A: Of course. We spend a lot of quality time with our patients.
Dr. Lee stands behind his dental treatment involving crowns and bridges for a
period of 10 years. The patient must come regularly for preventative care to
fulfill their portion of the warrantee.

Back to Questions

Q: What is professional tooth whitening?
A: Dr Lee provides professional whitening, which is a
power-assisted bleaching process that lightens enamel and dentin. The
Professional in-office whitening system is a revolutionary tooth whitening
procedure. It's safe, effective and fast - very fast. In just about 90 minutes,
your teeth will be dramatically whiter. Professional whitening is ideal for
anyone looking for immediate results (6-10 shades* with up to three 20-minute
exposures). The convenience, speed and effectiveness of professional whitening
make it the perfect choice for the busy individual.

Back to Questions

Q: How long does whitening treatment last?
A: If staining substances, such as caffeine or tobacco
products, caused your discoloration, then periodic re-whitening may be necessary
every few years. However, teeth will always be lighter than they were, and if
good oral hygiene and regular visits to your dentist are present, this can last
for a long time.

Back to Questions

Q: What causes tooth discoloration?
A: Causes include smoking, coffee, tea, soda, trauma, old fillings,
and staining. Aging may even contribute towards the darkening of your teeth.

Back to Questions

Q: What is cracked tooth syndrome?
A: Teeth may crack when subjected to the stress of chewing hard
foods or ice, or by biting on an unexpected hard object. Teeth with or without
restorations may exhibit this problem, but teeth restored wit typical silver
alloy restorations are most susceptible. This is a very common problem. The majority
of cracked teeth can be treated by placement of a crown on the tooth. Sometimes
additional treatment may be necessary.

Back to Questions

Q. How do you get rid of spaces between teeth?
A. With porcelain laminates or bonding. Crowns may be used on
more severe cases.

Back to Questions

Q. Are cosmetic procedures covered by insurance?
A. Dental insurance usually does not cover cosmetic dental procedures.

Back to Questions

Q. I have some old silver fillings, do I need to have them replaced?
A: Silver amalgam fillings, which are composed of 50% mercury and
50% silver alloy, eventually need to be replaced. It may surprise you to know that
the average life span of a silver filling is five to eight years. Dr. Lee can tell
you when they appear to need to be replaced due to leakage, breakdown or recurrent
decay. If your concern is strictly cosmetic, there are many new methods available
to replace the fillings with beautiful, functional long lasting restorations. Such
things as white filling materials, porcelain inlays, crowns and veneers may be used
to give you the smile you are seeking.
